  • Fishing Regulations: Bhutan maintains strict regulations to protect its natural resources. Anglers are required to obtain fishing permits, and catch-and-release practices are encouraged to preserve fish populations.
  • Fishing Locations: The tour includes fishing in some of Bhutan's most pristine rivers, including the Paro Chhu, Wang Chhu, Pho Chhu, and Mo Chhu. These rivers are known for their clear waters and abundance of trout.
  • Cultural Experience: In addition to fishing, you'll visit some of Bhutan's most significant cultural sites, including dzongs (fortresses), monasteries, and traditional villages, offering a well-rounded experience of the country's heritage.
  • Best Time to Visit: The best time for fishing in Bhutan is from March to May and September to November, when the weather is mild and the rivers are clear.
   
Day 1: Arrival in Paro Your fishing adventure begins upon arrival at Paro International Airport, where you will be warmly welcomed by your guide and driver. After checking into your hotel and taking some time to relax, you will visit the National Museum of Bhutan, housed in the ancient Ta Dzong. This museum offers a rich introduction to Bhutanese culture and history, setting the stage for your journey. In the evening, enjoy a leisurely stroll through Paro town, taking in the local atmosphere. You will spend the night at a hotel in Paro.   Day 2: Paro Exploration & Fishing Start your day with a morning exploration of Paro, including a visit to the Rinpung Dzong, a majestic fortress overlooking the Paro Valley. Afterward, you’ll head to the Paro Chhu for your first fishing session. This river, surrounded by picturesque landscapes, is known for its crystal-clear waters and abundance of trout. Spend the afternoon fishing, enjoying the peaceful environment and the thrill of the catch. After a satisfying day, return to your hotel in Paro for an overnight stay.   Day 3: Paro to Thimphu After breakfast, you will drive to Thimphu, Bhutan’s bustling capital. The drive offers scenic views as you travel through the Paro Valley and into Thimphu. Upon arrival, you’ll visit the Botanical Garden at Serbithang, where you can see a variety of Bhutan’s native plant species. The afternoon is free for you to explore Thimphu at your leisure, whether you choose to visit local markets, explore cultural sites, or simply relax. You will spend the night in Thimphu.   Day 4: Thimphu Fishing & Cultural Exploration Your day begins with a fishing session in the Wang Chhu River, which flows through Thimphu. Known for its clear waters and the variety of fish species, this river is a favorite among anglers. After a morning of fishing, you will explore Thimphu’s cultural highlights, including a visit to Tashichho Dzong, a stunning fortress and monastery that serves as the seat of Bhutan’s government. The day concludes with an overnight stay at your hotel in Thimphu.   Day 5: Thimphu to Punakha Depart Thimphu in the morning and drive towards Punakha, crossing the Dochula Pass, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range. Upon arrival in Punakha, you’ll visit the Punakha Dzong, a magnificent fortress located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers. The afternoon is free for you to explore Punakha at your leisure or relax by the riverside. You’ll spend the night in Punakha.   Day 6: Punakha Fishing Excursion Today is dedicated to fishing in the serene rivers of Punakha. You’ll spend the day along the Pho Chhu and Mo Chhu rivers, where you can try your luck at catching trout and other local fish species. Enjoy a packed picnic lunch by the riverside, taking in the peaceful surroundings. After a day of fishing, return to your hotel in Punakha to relax and unwind. You will spend another night in Punakha.   Day 7: Punakha to Paro Valley Crossing the Dochula Pass, where you’ll be treated to panoramic views of the Himalayan mountain range   Day 8: Paro Sightseeing Sightseeing: Visit the National Museum and Paro Dzong, depending on available time.   Day 9: Departure from Paro You’ll have some free time for last-minute shopping or additional sightseeing in Paro.
